During March 2013 we ran a Pot Planting and Decorating session with the children from Milby Primary School Nursery, with their parents/carers. This took place during the morning in the school hall, on curriculum time, with parents/carers coming into school especially for the event.
We included 3 different types of planting: using recycled containers from pop bottles, using peat pots for seeds and CD cases to make green houses. The parts of the plants can then be labelled as the plants grow. There were plenty of stickers and embellishments for the pots too.
Feedback included: "Another great session. The activities were perfect for the age group. Thank you." and my son "really enjoyed himself. A very good way to teach them. Fun and informative".
We are planning on offering more sessions to pre-school children in the future.
